Formerly the private domain of the rich and famous, these beautifully refurbished, turn of the century railway cars are exquisitely complimented by the haute cuisine of our extraordinary culinary team.

With a rich culinary heritage, Rod's Steak & Seafood Grille is a past winner of New Jersey Monthly's Best Steak Award and many other accolades, including Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence for 20 consecutive years. Our restaurant is recognized for more than just steak, we are just as famous for our fresh seafood. The bar scene is inviting allowing you to either relax or gather with your friends after work.

Our Manager

Safet Kurtovic is our esteemed restaurant general manager, bringing decades of hospitality expertise to our team. Born in a picturesque resort town in Montenegro, Safet developed a passion for hospitality at an early age, starting his career as a busser and server. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Touristic Economy in Kotor, Montenegro, from 1988 to 1991.

In 1991, Safet immigrated to New York City, where he began working at Amici Miei restaurant on West Broadway. Throughout the late 1990s, he traveled extensively, refining his hospitality skills in Southeast Asia and Australia.

Safet returned to New York City in 2002, securing a position at the iconic Loeb’s Central Park Boathouse. His dedication and talent were quickly recognized, leading to his promotion to general manager.

In 2013, Safet realized his dream of restaurant ownership by taking over Tenpenny, a prestigious Midtown restaurant specializing in American cuisine with French influences. By hiring a Michelin-star trained chef, he significantly elevated the dining experience for his guests.

In 2015, Safet became a managing partner at Wolfgang’s Steakhouse, located near Gotham Hotel. He played a pivotal role in managing operations across multiple locations in the city, contributing to the brand’s success.

In 2024, Safet joined our team as the general manager of Rod’s Steak & Seafood Grille. His exceptional leadership skills inspire our team to maintain the highest standards of food and service, ensuring a memorable dining experience for all our guests.
